Nigeria’s deteriorating security situation, the hike in electricity tariffs and plans by the Federal Government to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty will be the focus of the 19th teleconference meeting of the Nigeria Governors Forum scheduled to hold on Wednesday.
This was contained in a statement titled, ‘19th NGF Teleconference Meeting,’ released by the Head, Media and Public Affairs of the NGF, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the NGF will be holding its 19th Teleconference meeting on Wednesday (today).
The Director General of the NGF Asishana Bayo Okauru, said the meeting will commence at 2 pm.
He also said the governors would receive briefing from its technical committee on electricity tariffs.
The statement further reads, “The hike in the electricity tariffs almost set the country on a nationwide imbroglio as a sequel to the actions intended by labour, few weeks ago, until the Governors intervened.
“The Ministers of Works and Housing, Communications and Digital Economy and Humanitarian Services and Disaster Management will also be on hand to address the Governors, one after the another, among other issues.
