Osinbajo, Lawan, Amaechi in full support of Tinubu presidential bid, says Adamu

Yemi Osinbajo

Ahead of the inauguration of the presidential campaign council of the All progressive congress (APC), the National Chairman of the party, Sen Abdullahi Adamu has assured that Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo is solidly behind the presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The APC chief who spoke during an interactive session with reporters at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja said all other presidential aspirants including the Senate President Ahmad Lawan and the former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi are all working in synch with the party to ensure Tinubu emerge victorious in the 2023 poll.

Adamu faulted the notions held in certain quarters that all the presidential aspirants that lost to Tinubu during the national convention of the party in June have been working underground to scuttle the presidential aspiration of Tinubu.

Asked whether Osinbajo, Lawan and Amaechi are sincerely in support of Tinubu, he retorted: “To the best of our knowledge they are. One thing which the Fourth estate owes as a duty is each of the aspirants for the presidency of this country that presented themselves during the June convention of the party is still alive.

“I don’t see any reason why you have not taken the initiative having observed or having the state of mind to know where do they stand today, none of you has any restrictions to meeting any of these candidates.

“It is not for me to observe for me to start talking for them if you notice anything that is not normal. Or you want something for them that you have not seen. Nothing stops you from talking to any of them.

“And if there is a need for reconciliation of course they come to any of us. As for reconciliation, it is a work in progress. We have been doing this, we have been talking to them individually. They are always around in the political space. You can always meet them and ask whatever your curiosity or anxiety is. Go to them and see what they tell you.”
