EPL: You threw him under the bus – Agbonlahor slams Erik ten Hag’s handling of Sancho
Former Aston Villa captain, Gabby Agbonlahor, has said that the approach of Manchester United manager to Jado Sancho’s situation at the club was wrong.
According to him, the Dutchman threw the English winger under the bus.
Ten Hag had after their Premier League game defeat to Arsenal on Sunday publicly called out the English, citing his lack of standards in training.
The player responded immediately, defending his position. Hence, the situation revolving the player and the manager are an awkward one at United.
“During my time, I feel that managers, even when things have happened with players, maybe not at their best in training, they would protect them,” Agbonjahor said on talkSPORT.
“He could have easily said, ‘Jadon Sancho is uninvolved for tactical reasons.’ He sort of threw him under the bus. And, for Jadon Sancho, to pin the tweet on his Twitter. He feels that he is the scapegoat, he is training well, then you have to look at both sides. You can’t just look at the manager’s side.”
