Davido accuses Gov Oyetola of spreading lies

Nigeria Singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has accused Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the outgoing governor of Osun State, of “spreading lies”.

Davido, the nephew to Ademola Adeleke the Osun governor-elect, on Monday described Oyetola as a bad person for his claims of over-voting during the state’s governorship election “You are actually just a bad human being Gboyega Oyetola no other way to put it, spreading lies everywhere and destroying your legacy (not like you even have),” Davido said. Ismail Omipidan, an aide to Governor Oyetola had recently reported that there were “inconsistencies” in the data from the Osun governorship election serves as proof of the anomalies during the poll. Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, was declared the winner of the election, having polled 403,371 votes to defeat Governor Oyetola who got 375,027.

According to Omipidan, the Certified True Copy (CTC) obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the election across 10 Local Governments in 749 polling units showed that accreditation through the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) was less than the number of votes cast in those units.

Adeleke, the governor-elect however has dismissed a post circulating on social media, stating that he admitted over-voting in his response to the petition against his victory at the July 16 governorship poll pending before Election Petition Tribunal. Davido reacting to this urged INEC to tell Nigerians if there was over-voting with its new BVAS Machine. “It’s done and dusted INEC, Abeg is there any such thing as overvoting with your new BVAS Machine?” the singer added.
