President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the murder of Eze Ignatius Asor, the traditional ruler of Obudi Agwa community in Imo State.

Gunmen reportedly stormed the monarch’s palace on Monday during a meeting and murdered the traditional ruler, two palace chiefs, and two other members of the community.

Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu in a statement said Buhari expressed his sympathy to the family and friends of the victims and wished those who were injured during the attack a swift recovery.

Shehu stated that the president has ordered the state’s security agencies to investigate the murder incidents and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.

He also acknowledged the Imo State government’s efforts at improving the security situation in the state.

Buhari urged all Imo residents and citizens to support the efforts of state actors and members of the local community to ensure peace and security.
